AXA Mexico’s green actions
CEO AXA Mexico
We are all witnesses to the increasing environmental challenges faced across the world. These are Just two recent examples in Mexico: numerous fires combined with lack of wind and rain, raised the pollution levels in the large cities to an even higher level and tons of sargassum arriving at the coasts of the Riviera Maya, hurting the local economy severely.
At AXA Mexico, we have taken particular actions to become more ecological. We have been PET free since 2018 and we are working to reduce our paper consumption. Our largest buildings are LEED certified, and we have made a commitment to only consume energy from renewable sources starting in 2020. Also, there are showers available at the office, allowing employees to commute by bike.
At the same time, we continue to work on actions regarding social equality, health, human capital development, resilience, etc. This has brought us recognition, for 10 consecutive years, as a Socially Responsible Company (ESR in Spanish).
Also, our own colleagues founded a community called “Green Champions”, which shares initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint both in our offices and colleagues’ surroundings.
We will continue to pursue specific initiatives to save our planet.
