AXA Seguros Mexico Acceso Cliente

In last year’s Corruption Perceptions Index, Transparency International positioned Mexico 135th out of 180 countries. According to the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO in Spanish), 91% of the population does not trust political parties, 83% does not trust legislators, and 80% does not trust the judicial system.

So, is it possible to do honest business in México?

AXA has taken several measures to prevent corruption. Some examples from government accounts are:

- Strict background screenings for all agents and intermediaries that deal with government accounts, along with non-conflict of interest and non-bribery sanctions declarations applying to every business partner.

- AXA Mexico has centralized all governmental accounts - involving a robust compliance team directly to ensure effective oversight of its governmental insurance business.

- AXA Mexico has established commission ceilings as a condition to participate in government insurance tenders, provided commissions are a condition in the government tender.

- AXA Mexico regularly asks for independent opinions from specialized local and international law firms and auditors, to ensure remaining compliant with anti-bribery laws in México, the US, the UK and France.

At AXA Mexico, we believe that it is possible to do honest business, meaning that enforcing stringent internal rules and protecting more Mexicans better is possible.
